Client Expectations: Process Jul. 26 at 12:29 pm
Some quick notes on what you can expect when working with Route 19.
Discovery & Planning
We’ll begin with discovery and planning, determining what site elements and content your visitors require, and who those visitors are. The end result will be a preliminary site map.
Wireframes and Prototyping
With the content and site map in hand we’ll begin to create rough wireframes for the major website templates. This is to get a feel for hierarchy, flow, and page interactions. Some pages may be turned into a paper prototype for early usability testing.
Visual Design
When the structure and flow have been worked out, the design will begin. Using the provided content and branding guidelines the main templates of the site will be created statically. Basic usability testing will often be repeated with the updated designs.
Development
When the design has been approved the development of the site will begin. HTML templates are created and tested before the back-end is programmed to meet the technical requirements of the site. This usually includes an easy to use content management system, often custom built for those specific areas of the site that will require frequent updates, but sometimes an off-the-shelf CMS is suitable or preferred.
Testing
With the development complete we’ll begin extensive testing to ensure the site works as planned in a variety of circumstances, operating systems and browsers.
Launch
When everyone is happy with the outcome we can launch the site. We’ll continue to monitor the logs and stats closely for the first while, just to be sure everything is working properly.
