KioskBook: digital signage for the rink lobby.
KioskBook is a SaaS product I own, design, develop, and operate. It puts the home team’s photos, highlight videos, sponsors, and schedule on the screen in a hockey rink’s lobby.

A lobby screen that a team can keep current
A rink lobby is where fans, families, and sponsors wait before the game. A screen there is only worth looking at if what’s on it is current, and the people with the photos, highlights, and sponsor logos belong to the team that plays there, not whoever looks after the building.
KioskBook is built for that home team. The team manages its own content, and the display takes care of showing it.
What I built
KioskBook has two parts. The first is a web application where the team uploads its photos, highlight videos, and sponsor logos, prepared for 4K displays.
The second is a custom Linux kiosk host: local hardware that plugs into a TV in the lobby and runs the display. Kiosks sync automatically through the day, so content updated from anywhere reaches the screen without anyone visiting it. The team’s dashboard shows whether its kiosk is healthy and when it last synced.
Simple enough for any volunteer
Teams add photos, highlights, and sponsors throughout the season, often through volunteers. Updating the display means signing in and uploading, even from a phone, without a trip to the rink.
My role
I handle product design, UI/UX, Ruby on Rails development, deployment, and hosting. The content manager runs on DigitalOcean, deployed with Kamal. I also built the Linux kiosk host that runs each display.
Live
KioskBook is live. I continue to build and operate it as my own SaaS business.
